Sing a New Song
Creating photo art is an exciting way to express myself. Colors, textures, form, light, and beauty make my heart sing. My goal is to lift up the viewer. Creating art is cathartic. I reach into the depths of my soul and bring forth my deepest self. My life is better because I create.
I now can clearly see that my love of colors, texture, form, light, and beauty come from learning to sew as a child. As a teenager, I made most all of my own clothes. I loved wearing unique creations. Sewing was a part of my adult life until the business of being a wife and mother overtook the number of hours in a day. I didn’t have the time to sew and let it go.
The cycle of life has brought me back to sewing. A little over a week ago, I purchased a sewing/embroidery/quilting machine. I am learning how to digitize my artwork to embroider the images on fabric. The software for doing this has a steep learning curve, but since I have conquered Photoshop I figure I can do this! In the meantime, I am creating quilted totes and handbags.
My days are now split between creating Photo Art and Sewing Art.
